SOIL Guitarist Launches 'Extreme Metal' Project DIRGE
March 10, 2007SOIL guitarist Shaun Glass has teamed up with THE DOOMSDAY SOCIAL drummer James Knight (ex-THE BLANK THEORY, CHACOPA) and A TEXAS FUNERAL vocalist Jermz in a brand new project called DIRGE. According to Shaun, who previously played bass in the 1990s death metal act BROKEN HOPE, DIRGE's musical direction is "total fucking extreme metal in a very modern thrash style." First audio samples will be made available online via the band's MySpace page during the coming months.
Glass also adds: "This will by no means affect my SOIL time as all is well there."
SOIL, SEEMLESS and LIGION will team up for "True Rock Tour" in May. The dates are as follows:

SOIL's latest CD, "True Self", was released in May 2006 via DRT Entertainment. The follow-up to 2004's "Redefine" was recorded and mixed at Bomb Shelter studios in Los Angeles, California with producer Ulrich Wild (STATIC-X, TAPROOT). The CD is the group's first to feature singer A.J. Cavalier, who previously fronted the California-based DIESEL MACHINE (also featuring ex-DAMAGEPLAN frontman Patrick Lachman on guitar). The band's original vocalist, Ryan McCombs, has since joined the Texas act DROWNING POOL.
